SO... you watched Duck Day. Or you didn't, s'cool, but I just wanna say how cool sketchbook films are! You get a chance to tell a quick story in a cool aesthetic, but don't listen to me, listen to this fantastic making of by Fran Krause!
Duck Day was an interesting trial run. I haven't finished any stories in a while, so putting this on out, as bad as it, was a nice relief! Just getting an idea out in a way that is purposely unpolished is really nice as a way to get the process rolling! I've got some bigger stories rolling, but putting out something like a sketchbook film (and mine was probably too long) is a great way to finish something!
It was going to be this big point-and-click / mini-game like game with branching paths and sweet cutscenes. I just lost motivation several times, saved over / lost several hours of work, and finally gave up. What your getting is a small fragment of what could have been.
I'm really not giving up as much as I am moving on, but I guess I just wanted to explain why it isn't up to my standards and came out very short and sucky.
